Our story
Situated on the slopes of Larkton Hill along the sandstone ridge in South Cheshire, Goldford is a two-acre, boutique vineyard established and run by the Smith family.
Our aim is to produce outstanding cool-climate wines full of character.
In 2018 we planted four grape varieties, carefully selected for our climate and terroir – Seyval Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. William and Liane tend our vines year-round with meticulous attention, helping to bring out the best characteristics of each variety.
With these complementary grape varieties we can produce a range of distinctive sparkling and still wines. All of our sparkling wines are aged for at least two years, ensuring a characterful bouquet and notable flavour profile.
In Spring 2024, we were delighted to release our signature sparkling white wine from our first harvest of 2020. This is a blend of our Pinot Noir and Seyval Blanc grapes. It is a light and refreshing wine with good acidity and notes of prickly pear and stone fruit. Later in 2024 we will be releasing our refreshing, off-dry, still Pinot Gris with citrus notes, and our 2021 vintage sparkling white.

Our wines are available to order directly from our online shop and are stocked in restaurants and shops in the local area. We hope you enjoy our wine.
